Our Year of Grace and Favor

The Lord Longs to be Gracious to You ~ Is. 30:18

On December 31st, the clock strikes midnight ushering in another new year. Most are glad to see 2020 in their rear view mirror. Furthermore, there is excitement to see what 2021 holds for us. I am expecting this to be the year of the favor of the Lord for His people.

A new beginning, a gift full of promise. However, we must accept it, unwrap it, and use it. Unfortunately not everyone does that. Maybe you dread what the new year holds; retirement, empty nest, unemployment, and so on. Well the Lord takes people at the end of their rope and sets them on the road to peace, joy, and victory. He’ s an expert at drying tears, calming fears, injecting courage into anxious hearts, as well as removing the sting of old memories. God makes all things new – Rev. 21:5 says. He never leads you back, just forward.

“The Lord longs to be gracious to you.” To be gracious means to show favor. The desire of God’s heart is that you walk in His grace and favor everyday of the year. Let’s believe together that 2020 (what the enemy meant for evil) God will turn it around and make something beautiful out of it. Looking forward to 2021

Reset The New Year

Revelation 21:5 says: He who was seated on throne said, “I am making all things new!”

The new year is always a good time to reset or start over.

To reset something is to restore it to it’s original design, it’s original purpose, or to it’s original intent.

When your smart phone is sluggish and can’t seem to muster the energy to do anything you ask it to, it needs to have all its apps shut down and its power rebooted; it needs reset. When our marriages and relationships dissolve into a series of misses and misunderstandings, we need an infusion of effective communication, creativity, quality time, and enthusiasm; it needs to be reset.

Reset The New Year

Whatever in our lives that has broken down or if we are just not experiencing the abundant life Jesus offers, we need a reset. Jesus offers us the opportunity to reset our lives from sin, cynicism, and self reliance to faith in Jesus, His grace, love, & His transformation. All other resets we want & need can, and will follow.

Please join us starting Jan. 8th, for a four part Sunday series “Reset.”

Jesus, reset my heart, my mind, my voice, & my hands.

May the Lord bless you as we RESET our lives to conform with His and the good news is that He supplies all the power!

In Celebration of Him,

This Christmas

Merry Christmas! How wonderful it is to share this holiday with such a special congregation! I hope you will take time to worship with us over the holiday’s and participate in the    special events that help our church celebrate this blessed season.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas that too often we don’t take time to meditate on what the season is really about. I pray that you and your family will be filled with Hope, Peace and Joy as we recognize the miraculous birth of our Lord Jesus Christ so many years ago.

The Attitude of Gratitude

Freely you have received: freely give. Matthew 10:8

The Bible teaches sowing in order to reap, or giving for a desired result. In salvation, you gave your heart to Jesus expecting something in return – eternal life, and He didn’t disappoint you. It also says about Jesus, “who for the joy set before Him endured the cross despising shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 He looked beyond the cross to the throne that was his reward.

Follow Jesus – No Matter The Cost

Your decision to follow Jesus will upset some people, and your family may be the first place you’ll feel it. Not everyone is happy when the prodigal comes home – just ask the elder brother, Luke 15: 11-32.

Listen to what friends and acquaintances said about Jesus – “Is not this the carpenter’s son? …and they were offended at Him” Matthew 13:55, 57. When you step out and follow the Lord, some of those who have known you the longest will be offended and will probably let you know it.

Encouragement

Hebrews 3:13 The bible tells us to exhort each other daily! Which means we should be encouraging the people we come in contact with every day. To continue in the faith, to have faith in God, and to not give up.

Often we can’t handle the pressures of today, we escape into remembering the good old days, or dream of tomorrow when things will be better. However, until we learn to live in the now, we miss what God has for us. The Christian life is lived one day at a time Listen, “Exhort one another daily.”
